Grace’s father, Mr. Gove, recently found himself at a crossroads. Their family’s vehicle was old and unreliable, and with the increasing frequency of doctor visits, the mounting cost of gas was placing a significant financial strain on the family. Although Grace is not a licensed driver, the thought of getting a new vehicle was still something that excited her. The situation was causing a great deal of stress, and they weren’t sure where to turn for help. That’s when they reached out to The Good Shepherd Fund.
Understanding the urgency of their situation, our team quickly sprang into action. Nate from our team worked closely with Mr. Gove to explore options for purchasing a new vehicle that would be both reliable and cost-effective. Mr. Gove expressed interest in a hybrid minivan to help reduce the cost of gas with all the appointments they regularly attend. The vehicle they were currently using was not in good shape, so our team helped them navigate the process of trading in their old vehicle for a new one.
Within less than a week, we were able to work out a trade and secure the purchase of the hybrid minivan that Grace loved. When the day finally came to receive the new vehicle, Grace was over the moon with happiness! Though she doesn’t drive, the comfort and security this new minivan provides for her and her family is something that brought immense joy and relief.
The impact of this new vehicle on Grace’s life has been profound. Not only has it alleviated the financial burden of constant car repairs and rising fuel costs, but it has also provided Grace with a safe and comfortable way to travel to her medical appointments. The peace of mind that comes from having a reliable vehicle has made a world of difference for her and her family, allowing them to focus on what truly matters—Grace’s health and well-being.
